Current Call for Submissions

Common Tongue is inviting submissions for the first issue of a new para-academic journal. We invite you to submit original articles, essays, studies and reviews. They should be guided by an academic tone but not stifled by it. We encourage non-disciplinarity and unconstrained exploration of your chosen subject manner. We are accepting pieces on any topic.  Please feel free to send us a speculative email with ideas if you wish to discuss this further before submission. 

 

We would like to see submissions from all groups and walks of life and do not expect authors to have a particular academic background. We encourage you to use this as an opportunity to experiment. You always have the opportunity to change your mind. 

 

There is no theme for this journal. We aim to elaborate a theme through the submissions themselves, aiming to capture the geist of what people are investigating right now. We hope that by putting pieces in conversation with one another, we will create a resonance that will reveal the them upon publication. The journal will be published online and in print. 

 

Please send finished submissions by the 31st of December 2024 as a PDF or Word Document. References should be in Chicago referencing style and a bibliography should be included after the main text in the same document.
